Brief Case History
In August 1991, Alan Dale Walker was convicted of capital murder, kidnapping, and rape of Konya Rebecca Edwards. Walker’s accomplice testified that he kidnapped Edwards after meeting her at a night club earlier that night. Walker then forced her into various sexual acts at a nearby lake where he eventually drowned Edwards. He was sentenced to death, given 30 years for kidnapping, and 35 years for rape. Since his initial trial, he has filed for Post Conviction Relief. Walker’s petition for this motion includes numerous issues alleging violations of statutory and constitutional rights. The court ruled that Walker failed to provide sufficient proof that the trial counsel rendered efficient performance, so his sentences were not overturned.
