Brief Case History

In 1987, Gerald Holland was convicted of capital murder while committing the crime of rape. He was sentenced to death. Holland and his legal team appealed and his case was granted a resentencing due to a premature endorsement of death by the original trial jury. His resentencing occurred in 1993 and Holland was again sentenced to death.

Holland and his legal team filed another direct appeal, citing thirty-one errors, which was denied. They then petitioned for post-conviction relief, also denied, before petitioning for habeas corpus relief. This relief was denied and Holland was executed on May 20th, 2010.
