Jason Keller was charged with capital murder in connection with the robbery and killing of Hat Nguyen in her convenience store in 2007. After being caught and shot by police, Keller confessed to the crime at the hospital. He later requested a retrial on the grounds that his hospital confession was impermissible evidence. His appeal failed.
