Rodney Gray’s trial for capital murder while engaged in the commission of kidnapping and rape began on January 22nd, 1996. Gray was found guilty two days later, then sentenced to death one day after that.

Gray and his legal team made a direct appeal, which was denied, before making two additional appeals and seeking post-conviction relief. These, too, were denied.
